Centaurs are large animals that have the upper body of a human and the lower
body of a horse. They are very honest and brave beings who stick very
closely to their own kind. Centaurs make their homes in the forest, tending
to avoid most bipedal races -- especially Humans and Dwarves. Centaur
warriors are excellent bowmen and very good with a longsword.
Traits and Abilities:
Centaurs are not particularly good nor bad at any specific occupation, but
those that leave the forest typically become warriors of some kind. They
have a very strong kick that can knock the breath out of their opponent and
also have a strong resistance to disease. Their broad, horselike body has an
unfortunate vulnerability to long, piercing weapons.
It is unclear if Centaurs evolved naturally or if they were created by some
god or magical force, although the latter seems more likely, given the lack
of similar known beings. What is known is that they were not very
intelligent when first discovered, and lived quite peacefully, as their
apparent equine relatives. When first encountered by Dwarves, they were
considered to be evil spirits, and many were slaughtered. This, being their
first interaction with humanoids, gave them an obvious dislike for them as
they became more aware.
